Understanding the solar design workflow
The seven guided steps and how a design reaches a proposal.
Design belongs to a project
A design is created for a project, so the site, the customer and the eventual proposal stay attached to the same record.
The guided steps
The design workspace runs in order: Property & Roof, Obstructions, Panels, Equipment, Strings, Energy, Results. You can move between steps, and the overview offers to resume where you left off.
Nothing is assumed silently
Where an input is missing, the design shows it as unresolved rather than filling in a value. Figures that depend on it stay blank until the input exists.
Starting over
Start over clears the roof, layout, equipment, energy, pricing and proposal data for that design and keeps the property and customer. It cannot be undone.
Advanced workspace
The advanced CAD workspace now lives in Labs. Older links to it keep working.
